Pre-Requisites

The Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM) is the professional body that represents waste and resource professionals working in the sustainable waste and resource management sectors worldwide. CIWM sets the professional standards for individuals working in the industry and has various grades of membership determined by education, qualification and experience.


For / Special Requirements

This course is for those people whose work practices involve the production of waste or those people who need a greater understanding of waste principles. The Waste Smart foundation course is for hands-on people who make front-line, minute-by-minute decisions that affect cost, wastage and compliance, such as:

  • Site cleaners
  • Porters
  • Lab technicians
  • Building managers
  • Facilities managers

  • Understanding why improving resource and waste management is important
