The workshop will outline measures to follow for effective decontamination following exposure to chemical splashes to prevent or lessen the severity of a chemical injury. The session is delivered by Diphex who will provide training in the use of their specialist chemical washing solutions - Diphoterine and Hexafluorine.
Pre-Requisites Suitable for staff who may be called on to respond in the event of a chemical injury and staff e.g. Safety advisers, managers etc responsible for assessing first aid requirements.
Objectives
  • A general introduction to Diphex
  • The identification of hazardous chemicals and associated issues
  • How and why a chemical burn develops
  • The difference between active and passive washing following a chemical splash
  • The advancements that have been made in the deployment of Emergency Chemical First Aid following a chemical incident
Course charges Cancellation feeYour Division/Faculty will incur a charge should you fail to attend on the day or cancel your place any later than five full working days before the course. This will be the cost of your place on the course.
