Course overview

Successful recruitment and selection is a key element in any hiring manager’s “tool kit”. The Successful Recruitment and Selection training course will give you the necessary knowledge and confidence to run effective recruitment campaigns on behalf of the University and greatly improve the likelihood of you recruiting the right person for your team.

What we will cover
This practical course will give you a clear insight into recruitment processes and procedures at the University including:

  • how to identify and put together effective selection criteria;
  • successful interview, assessment and selection techniques;
  • discussing what equality and diversity mean and the legal framework that underpin them;
  • avoiding unconscious bias;
  • answers to common issues and questions;

What you’ll leave with
To be able to manage all stages of a recruitment campaign both legally and practically and with professionalism and confidence.

Who this course is aimed at: Recruitment and selection training is mandatory for all staff involved in any interview or selection process, however 1:1, small group or tailored departmental training may be more appropriate than this course for any of the following reasons:

  • You have already done the University's full recruitment and selection course but need your skills and knowledge updating;
  • You have had equivalent training elsewhere and will now be involved in the recruitment process at the University;
  • There is a pressing need for training that cannot be met by the scheduled courses below
