Maintaining a University SharePoint intranet site for Site Editors & Owners

The purpose of this course is to provide UOB staff with the skills and confidence to maintain your school, faculty, institute or division intranet SharePoint site. Owners and editors of new sites should have agreed a date for the provision of their site with Digital Bristol before booking.
This is an online session, run in 2 parts, both of which must be completed:
Preparation: see Pre-requisites.
A one hour follow-up webinar with a trainer. This will include demonstrations of other techniques, and questions.
Pre-RequisitesPreparation: watch short videos and do corresponding exercises, to create an article page on the training site. This will take you about 2-3 hrs to do. The tutor will send you this information 48 hrs before the webinar. It must be completed at least 1 hr before the start of the webinar.
Some experience of Office 365 (e.g. Outlook, OneDrive, Office 365 Groups) is desirable.
For / Special Requirements
This course is intended for any UoB staff who need to maintain content on or manage a SharePoint intranet site for a school, faculty, institute or division. This course does not cover: - how to use the SharePoint Team Site that comes with an Office 365 Group - how to move your entire faculty, school or division shared filestore to SharePoint.
After attending this course, you will be able to:
use your SharePoint intranet site;
create content-rich site pages;
upload documents to the document library;
create links to other pages and documents;
customise the navigation links;
add and remove site editors (site owners only);
write more effective and accessible digital content.
The webinar section of this course will be run using Skype for Business or Microsoft Teams. You will be provided with a link to join the session.
