Creating an analytical strategy for examining your dataset is the first step to managing your qualitative research data. This workshop provides a high-level overview of the principles and practices of undertaking qualitative data analysis (text, graphic, audio and video). We examine qualitative methodologies, data collection strategies, and analytic strategies to understand how these interrelated activities are undertaken as a project progresses.
Prior to the workshop, you will be asked to examine qualitative data and come prepared to discuss the material.
On completion of this course you will be able to:
Recognise the importance of developing an analytical strategy with clear research questions
Develop your plan for a data collection strategy
Identify which analytical technique and software will suit your dataset
Understand how to deploy your analysis to support your argument
