Bristol Mind: Virtually Listening - Supporting Students Remotely in times of COVID 19

This introductory programme offers a guide to approaching support for students via a range of remote tools and considers how to identify concerns remotely and best deliver the support to maximise effectiveness.

We ask you to:
Be prepared for the workshop to arouse a range of intellectual and emotional reactions in yourself and other participants.
Listen respectfully to the experiences of others in the room.
Pay attention to your own emotional well-being – take time out from the workshop should you need to.
For / Special Requirements
This session is aimed towards personal tutors, senior tutors, residential life staff and wellbeing services staff. However, we welcome all staff.
To think about the similarities and differences between remote communication tools (telephone, zoom, text, email, webchat).
To Reflect on experiences of both giving and receiving support remotely, and share learning from this.
Consider the stages of offering remote support – before, during and after
Learn about how these skills can be applied in more challenging situations
Consider self-care in a challenging working environment
Please be aware that failure to cancel your place three full working days before a course or failure to attend a course will incur a £50 charge to your school.
